Tadpoles are one of the many fish you can catch in New World. These food items can also be used to get bait for more fish, so it’s kind of a self-fulfilling resource. All of these kinds of items are found in fishing hotspots. You will often need to complete quests by turning in materials and other items, and the Tadpoles are like that. They can be used for crafting as well.
You can get a fishing rod if you’re a new player very easily. Go find Master Fisher Michael Shield in Windsward and bring him five Woodlouse Bait.
And of course, there are other quests like this. Clams and Snails are both caught from similar sources. Tadpoles in New World can be caught in freshwater at any fishing spot, usually with no bait. You can increase your chances of catching a clam by using Nightcrawler Bait, but only do that if you’re getting unlucky with spawns. They can be found in a few different areas. The common places to find them are as follows:
- Brightwood – The lake to the east of Fort Brightwood has a 1-star fishing spot on it. Stick to the western shore to find it. There’s another good spot by Lush Hideaway on the eastern border of the zone. It’s right by the river that runs north-south.
- Everfall – The small lake just to the northeast of the Fort in this region also has a one-star spot on it.
- Mourningdale – Run along the northern path from the main town, there is a fishing spot north of Haedus.
Tadpoles primarily drop Life Motes, which make them very important for crafting of many items. There are many different items that make use of Life Motes. That makes this item very important.
If you don’t want to waste all that time gathering. But if you’re trying to speed things up, we have a few ways to help. You might want to hunt down other food items like fish filets, they’re super useful. If you need some healing help, you might want to find some Weak Healing Potions, or maybe something better.
There’s a bunch more stuff to learn about the basics of this MMO. You might also want to learn how to respec your build. There are also tons of materials you can gather and craft. There’s a lot of basic stuff like Rawhide and various basic ingredients that you need a lot of. Rarer materials like Steel and Starmetal are useful as well.
