How to make and use Star Metal in New World

New World

Mining and Smithing are some of the most important elements in Amazon’s New World MMO. Everybody needs new armor and weapons in constant supply, so it’s a great way to make gold if you’re willing to put the time into leveling and hunting for resources. This is a guide on Starmetal Ingots, a resource in New World. Read on to see the basic information of Starmetal Ingots, including how to get Starmetal Ingots and its uses!

Star Metal Ingots are one of the higher-level ingots in the game. The Tier 4 material is used in many different pieces of weapon and armor.

Having success in this game is all about being able to explore. Tons of hidden fights and other content can be a pathway to major resources and gear. And with the crafting system incentivizing traveling around, it becomes important to know the world around you. As such, Fast Travel in New World is pretty important. You will want to jump around the world and hunt down these various items. You might also want to find ore nodes like Gold and Iron.

How to get Star Metal Ingots in New World

You can craft them yourself, but they take a fair bit of effort. The Tier 4 items are usually guarded by higher-level enemies, so do some leveling up before you go out farming for this stuff. If you’re choosing the crafting route, make sure you have access to at least a level four smelter if you’re planning to make your own ingots.

  • Steel Ingot x2
  • Charcoal x2
  • Starmetal Ore x6
  • Flux x1

Finding Star Metal Ore is the hardest part of all this. You need to hunt around some pretty dangerous caves to find it. To track the veins down, you need mining level 125, and you need mining level 100 to actually mine it. There are a few concentrations in many different zones, but a couple zones are easier to get to compared to the others. Mourningdale and Restless Shore both have a good smattering of these veins.

There’s another way you can use high-end materials to downgrade to Star Metal. This is frankly a waste of material, as the Tier 5 materials you need are worth a lot more. But if you are going this route, you only need a Tier 3 Smelter. You need to use the Downgrade recipe and the following items to make Star Metal:

  • Orichalcum Ingot x2
  • Weak Solvent x3

Starmetal Ingot can also be purchased from Trading Posts, granted that another player has placed some for sale. Eventually, the prices will stabilize, but right now pricing is all over the place for basic materials. Players who put the time into leveling and finding resources can make bank, though.
