How to find and catch clams in New World

How to find Clams in New World

Clams in New World are pretty useful. Read on as we guide you on where to catch a clam for the Baited Quest in New World, or for your own crafting needs.

Clams are pretty easy to reel in with your fishing pole. You don’t seem to need any particular bait, or really to fish in any particular spot. There are some regions that seem to be better than others, and this guide will cover that.

They can then be used as an ingredient in various cooking recipes. Part of the reason you need to find these is part of the Baited Quest in the game. This quest requires you to bring back both clams and snails. You also need to use Clams to make Clam Bait. You can also get pearls which can be sold or made into jewelry items.

Clams can be caught in Salt Water, usually with no bait. You can increase your chances of catching a clam by using Nightcrawler Bait, but only do that if you’re getting unlucky with spawns. They can be found in a few different areas. The common places to find them are as follows:

  • First Light – The salt water directly around the main fort in this region has some fishing hotspots to check for clam.
  • Everfall – In the southwestern corner of the zone, south of the main fort, you will find a large open sandy area. The waters here have plenty of fish.
  • Weaver’s Fen – Check the waters to the east for tons of fishing spots.
