How to increase your Clan Tier in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord

Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord

Increasing the rank and size of your Clan is very important in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord is vital to success in the game. Clan Tier in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord is the direct measure of your power as a commander, statesman and general citizen of the game world. The higher this rank is, the better off you are. One of many benefits that can be gained from raising your Clan Tier in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord is to increase the size of your personal retinue. This means that you can have more of the very skilled companions in your army, making you a more effective fighting force.

To increase your Clan tier, you have to earn tons of Renown. This is a measure of your impact on the world and the people within it, so the basic premise is to do as many things to increase the visibility and power of your Clan as you can. To go up a Clan Tier, you need to just keep earning more and more Renown in the game.

Winning battles is the most common way to earn Renown. The more challenging the fight itself, the better the outcome if you win. You can not only loot the enemy army for solid gear and beating a superior force gives quite a bit of Renown. You can also earn renown by winning tournaments at the Arena in any sufficiently large settlement, so if you’re the fighting type, this is another option over leading armies in the field.

Attacking and taking settlements in war is the next step beyond simple battles to earn more Renown. The bigger and tougher the fight, the better the rewards. Early in the game, you won’t have the forces necessary to take and hold territory, so focus on building up your strength and taking on smaller fights first.

Trade and diplomacy are not going to raise your Clan Tier directly, but there are still great benefits to building your economic power. As your Clan Tier in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord increases, more and more folks will flock to your banners and you can also unlock new upgrades for your Workshops and other interests. Renown can also be spent to upgrade your military forces as well. So in addition to keeping a steady stream of Denar coming in, investing in real estate and trading is a great way to help out your war machine.

Some quests taken for the Kingdoms of the land will reward a small amount of Renown for completing them, so be sure to work with the various factions in the game.
