DC Universe Online celebrates 9th anniversary with free gifts

DC Universe Online

DC Universe Online is nine years old today, ringing in the new decade by approaching almost a decade in age itself. Not many MMOs hit this milestone, so it’s a time for celebration on the part of the development team. In a new blog post, the developers announced anniversary gifts to the game’s players. These include a free character advance to CR255 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC, and CR100 on Nintendo Switch. But that’s not all the team has in store for the fans.

First up is a free batch of  Hera’s Strength 2020 getup, allowing players to take their power to new heights. Secondly, claim your free Member Appreciation Gift Box. These contain an Artifact Cache, Artifact Catalysts, bonus experience points, and Seals, and some other bonuses to use for your account. There’s even a full set of Royal Chroma Materials to use for customizing your gear a bit. You need to hurry to claim these gifts though, these items are only available through January 31st.

New content also joins these limited-time rewards. Open Episodes have also returned, bringing new missions for players to undertake. The Attack of the Anti-Monitor event is also live in game right now. There’s tons to do and many gifts to claim, get to it!

As an added bonus, the game even has a sale ongoing on sub prices. Users on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 can grab a renewed subscription to DC Universe Online for 25% cheaper than the normal price.

DC Universe Online could be around for a good long while, maybe in 2030 we’ll still see the DC universe going strong in some form in the MMO scene, assuming the planet hasn’t been cooked by that point. Who knows, maybe we will see a remade version of that classic cinematic trailer from the launch for the 10th anniversary.
