How to get Risen Umbral Energy in Destiny 2

How to get Parasite in Destiny 2

The new weapon crafting system in Destiny 2 The Witch Queen is a huge addition to the game. Gathering and using resources to make the weapons and gear you want is a huge uplift in the quality of life for the game. Players are busy rushing around, trying to find those new Deepsight weapons and caches, learning what secrets they hold. With new crafting materials like Resonant Alloy to gather, there’s a lot to learn. There’s also a bunch of powerful and strange new weapons, like the Parasite, which were added to give players something to chase.

Engrams do make a return this time though, as the first major content drop for Destiny 2 in a year has a ton packed in. So those of us who enjoyed the random rolls aspect of previous years aren’t completely missing out. The Umbral Engrams are back again, giving players something to chase in terms of loot. Getting them unlocked is not easy though, hence this guide.

How to get Risen Umbral Energy in Destiny 2

PsiOps Battleground missions are the best source for this stuff, hands down. These see players taking on the rather tough Lightbearing Hive, which pose a major challenge. New players will need to prepare before they take these on. For those who are curious, the recommended power level for this activity is 1500, so players will need to put in some work to prepare. These are considered pretty close to the toughest activities in the game. The only way to get close to the power cap of 1560 is to complete the toughest activities and earn Pinnacle drops to boost your level.

These boss fights feature a Runic Chest at the end of each mission. When you open the Runic Chest, you’ll receive Risen Umbral Energy, which you can take back to the War Table to use to unlock your Umbral Engrams.

You get a bunch of rewards from these Engrams, including weapons that can be broken down and recrafted into what you want. Not only are Exotic weapons coming out in all manner of new forms, but there’s also a lot more to learn. You’ll want to make sure you purchase The Witch Queen expansion for Destiny 2. Without it, you will not be able to unlock any of this, putting a cap on your power levels in-game. But once you do, there are plenty of things to encounter and fight. One of the tools you unlock as you get through the story is called a Glaive. Then you need to consider the new Artifacts. These powerful items offer a new equipment slot to grant your Guardian even more boons in combat.
