Warriors Orochi 4 to add Greek demigod Perseus
Koei Tecmo have released a bunch of new trailers, screenshots and other details about Warriors Orochi 4. The details come to us from a set of livestreams, which you can find below.
One of the main announcements is in the form of new characters being added to the expansive roster of the game. We’ve already seen some of the other characters previously, but we’ve got one more super-powered fighter to add the ongoing war between iconic characters from the various Koei Tecmo franchises. This new character is none other than the Demigod Perseus from Greek mythology. This legendary slayer of the Gorgon Medusa joins the fray when the game launches.
Warriors Orochi 4 also includes a new system called “Deification”. Key characters to the story will gain these divine forms over the course of the game, making these fighters exponentially more powerful compared to the competition. And the livestream had some more details about that system as well.
As part of the story in Warriors Orochi 4, eight characters will be able achieve a Deification form, including Zhao Yun, Sanada Yukimura, Ishida Mitsunari, and Cao Pi. Guan Yinping joins this limited list of heroes with her Deification form, which is achieved by getting the necessary item from a defeated Chaos Origin enemy.
And since the story events from the previous games have all been helpfully forgotten via some convenient amnesia, all these new characters and godly forms won’t mess with the tone of the story at all. It totally won’t make an already over-the-top franchise even more absurd, no way at all. . .
Warriors Orochi 4 releases in Japan on September 27, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The game releases in North America on October 16, 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam worldwide.
