New Forza Horizon 4 footage, talks content updates and the future

Forza Horizon 4

The folks over at Turn 10 just wrapped up their Forza Monthly stream for the month of August 2018. The livestream contained lots of information for both Forza Horizon 4 and Forza Motorsport 7. Let’s check it out.

The two hour livestream included lots of new gameplay, first and foremost, for both of the upcoming racing games. We’ve already seen some of the seasonal gameplay and related features in Forza Horizon 4, and this stream has even more of that. You gearhead fans will really enjoy it, even if just for that bit alone.

There’s also a lot of focus on how the much more realistic and varied driving model that’s being built into Forza Horizon 4. There’s a whole segment about “Formula Drift” cars that are a core feature in the upcoming game. These incredibly complex and beautiful machines are a wonder to behold, and the devs behind the game are carrying some of that love and wonder over into the development process itself. It’s all pretty cool to see.

The Forza Monthly for August also has lots to say about the future of both games, for example, what new cars and other changes players can expect in Forza Motorsport 7. The August update that’s forthcoming for that game will bring a variety of fixes and improvements to the overall gameplay experience. The UI is being revamped with new visual elements that help the player with various driving aids. And of course, these can be disabled if you don’t want them.

One of the best changes is that the distinctions between Clean and Dirty laps is much easier to understand. The goal here is to reduce intentional track-cutting in multiplayer racing. Seems like a pretty good idea to me. Turn 10 have stated that they’re going to be iterating on the system in future updates to add more depth as well.

There’s a lot more to the August update that lands on Wednesday to the game, watch the livestream below to see it all.
