Jump Force throws a new story trailer into the fight, showing iconic characters

Jump Force Story Trailer

Bandai Namco Games just unleashed a new gameplay trailer for Jump Force, and this one is all about the weird and cobbled together story. The trailer was released during the Taipei Games Show this year, and fans from anime to fighting games seem really excited.

This new trailer is quite chaotic in the number and variety of characters it shows. But it’s equally  reclusive with revealing bits and pieces about the plot of the upcoming fighting game. In short, there’s a lot going on in this trailer, and even hardcore anime and manga fans might have trouble following all the action. Although that could be a good sign that the final game is really dense in terms of story and characters.

The overall story in Jump Force seems to revolve around a group of heroes, aptly named “Jump Force.’ When a benevolent force invades reality, the heroes of Shonen Jump must band together with you, your own created character, to put a stop to the invasion. The player will have control of their main character, and a smattering of other playable entities throughout the course of the game. And these playable moments will be joined by non-playable but story-centric NPCs taking the form of various iconic characters. One such example of these NPCs is the ultra-powerful Light Yagami from Death Note. It will be interesting to see how the developers manage to weave these disparate groups and properties together once the game comes out.

If you want an even deeper look at this game, Bandai Namco has you covered with plenty more trailers and footage. There was a recent batch of screenshots hyping up various additions from the Naruto universe. You could also take a look at some gameplay footage showing off the deep character creator.

In terms of other announcements the roster was recently revealed to have expanded to include characters from Black Clover. If you want to see some more characters in action, there’s plenty to gawk at in other trailers. During TGS 2018, characters from Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter X Hunter were revealed. Yugi Moto from Yu-Gi-Oh! was another addition to be unveiled after that. Another recent character source was the Rurouni Kenshin property.

Jump Force will launch for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 15. If you’d like to pre-order the game, and snag yourself some nice bonuses, you can do so right now on Amazon.
