Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is heading to Switch

Darksiders: Warmastered Edition Heading to Switch

THQ Nordic may have just “unintentionally” leaked a Switch trailer for one of their more iconic franchises. Earlier today, the company seemed to have accidentally posted a trailer for Darksiders: Warmastered Edition that promoted the remaster making its way to the Nintendo Switch console.

The trailer was pulled from the THQ Nordic website, and that page on the website now links to a “Nothing to See Here” GIF from the film The Naked Gun.

Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is an enhanced version of the original Darksiders game, and launched on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in 2016. It even made the jump to another Nintendo platform, The Wii-U, before this point we find ourselves in today. So all in all, it stands to reason that the game would eventually make the jump, especially considering the consistent teasing that the social media team has been doing for the franchise over the last few months.

In terms of other details, they are understandably absent. We don’t know if there will be a physical release, although we doubt it given how rare niche physical releases like this are. There’s also no details about a release date or price point. We can however make some inferences about what performance will be like. The assumption here is that this version will be based on the Wii-U variant. It’s worth mentioning that the Wii U version ran the game at 1080p and 30 frames per second, so we should at least see that level of performance with Darksiders: Warmastered Edition on the Switch. The remaster should also feature improved rendering, shadows, post-processing and textures to massively improve the overall quality of the experience.
