How to level up servants in V Rising

V Rising

V Rising puts far more emphasis on survival than a more action-oriented vamp game. Surviving against the many enemies is going to be tough. Blood is the core of your survival. You will need blood to continue fighting and growing your power. You also need an army of followers to help you out. These converted followers have their uses, but you need to give them the tools to do their job. This guide will cover how to level up servants in V Rising.

Be sure to check out our other guides on scrolls, and other materials like fish oil. Other upgrades like Whetstones are pretty useful as well. Other aspects of the game can help with your journey, like farming in V Rising and growing stuff from seeds. Seeds harvested from bosses can be used to grow unique items for crating intriguing new armor. Some of the best armor in the game is the Dark Silver gear, which is super powerful. And since you’re trying to get more powerful gear, leather can be helpful as well. Other items like Wool Thread and Clay are useful for early game crafting. There’s just so much to do in this game.

Why are Servants important?

You need to recruit Servants to take care of missions for you. These are some of the best ways to get bundles of low-end resources. After all, what Vampire Lord wants to go out and chop wood and gather stone? They also serve the primary role of defending your castle on PvP servers. When other players attack, the Servants can help defend your castle. Other than that, the missions are their core use, but there’s a problem.

These missions run in real-time, so they can take a while, perhaps way too long on solo servers. It’s worth noting, that the timer apparently doesn’t countdown if you aren’t running a server, as it’s based on game uptime, and not real-time. Servant training times are also affected by this. While you can’t adjust Servant rise timers when you put them into their coffins, you can adjust the time they spend on missions. There’s really no point to sending them out for more than 2 hours at a time on solo servers.

Now, how do you actually make them effective at those missions? That’s where it becomes important to level up servants in V Rising.

How to level up servants in V Rising

Managing gear score is the most important thing. This is the core consideration when it comes to wanting to level up servants in V Rising. Increasing the gear level of your Servants is the primary way in which you do this. By clicking on a follower as they walk around, you can open up their inventory. This will allow you to give them armor and weapons. The more power they have, the stronger they are. When looking at a follower, their gear level will be displayed above their head as well, along with their health. So if you want to gauge how strong they are, just follow them around a bit, then give them some shiny new gear.

It’s also important to note that your followers also have a gear level in V Rising. The more powerful the gear you equip to your followers, the more powerful they become. This can be useful in both PvE and PvP servers. PvE servers restrict PvP, so strong followers really only have two purposes. You can send each follower on a quest via the Throne, once you have that unlocked.

When you check a servant in their coffin, will see a few details. Their Power determines how much damage they can take and deal, as well as how successful the follower will be on missions. Their roles will also be listed here. Certain units have better chances at infiltration missions. And each servant also has a Faction that gives them a bonus when doing hunts in certain biomes. The final stat to take account of is Expertise. This last stat will actually improve the amount of power they gain from equipped items, and it’s based on Blood Quality.

If you want better followers, you have to give them better gear. You could also start with a stronger base of NPC as a Servant. One of the first things you want to do is be a bit more selective in the Servants you recruit. That’s where Blood Quality is vital. The closer a Follower’s starting Blood Quality is to 100%, the more effective the gear you give them will be.

Where to find 100% blood quality in V Rising

To get 100% blood quality units for particular types, you will want to go to the high-level areas that have the unit type you want. The first thing you need to do is unlock the Blood Hunger ability. This will allow you to track enemy types and get your hands on the foe that has the best possible stats. You need to beat Tristan the Vampire Hunter to get this option. To find Tristan the Vampire Hunter in V Rising, you will pretty much just need to use the Blood Altar and track him down because he patrols all over the Farbane Woods.

Once you have his ability, you can easily track down enemy types with higher blood quality, and then use the Dominating Presence abilities to charm them. Just teleport back to your castle waygate and you’re good to go. Let them stew in their new coffin for a few hours, and you have a powerful new follower.
