Does Destiny 2 support Smart Delivery on Xbox Series X?

Destiny 2 Season of Arrivals

With all the Destiny 2 news floating around today, including the reveal of Xbox Series X and PS5 ports, there’s a lot of excitement. So not only will fans be getting full story expansions well into the future, we’re getting cooler graphics too. Bungie will be bringing the game to new platforms starting this year when the two new consoles launch.

And when Beyond Light launches this September, things are going to get more interesting. In particular, those jumping into the game for the first time or coming back will get to take advantage of Smart Delivery.

This will allow players to buy the game on Xbox One, and then stream the game to the right console that they’re playing. Microsoft will be streaming the correct version to your console regardless of what console you’re playing games on. Various games, including Destiny 2, will support this feature. The biggest advantage of this is that those who already own the game on Xbox One can easily swap to Series X.

And yes, Smart Delivery is not the only thing we Destiny 2 fans are getting. Bungie has also announced that there will be cross-platform play. With the new batch of consoles coming out, it would really stink not to be able to play with those on older or newer hardware. Bungie thought of that and is rolling out cross-gen play for Xbox Series X, as well as the PS5. This will allow users on pretty much any console to play together.

And with the incoming launch of the new Beyond Light expansion, many players will be jumpi9ng back into the game, or coming in for the first time. So it’s a good thing that Bungie is bringing these features into the game. This should help keep the game going for a good long while.
