The Bug Butcher is headed to Switch
The Bug Butcher originally came out in 2016 for PC, and was eventually ported PS4 and Xbox One, well it’s now opening a new front in the war against buzzing, hissing and generally irritating little pests.
The game brings 30 levels and five different boss fights to Nintendo’s portable console.
Your job is to exterminate any vaguely non-human life across multiple planets and alien locales. You’re an intergalactic exterminator, and you’re good at your job. As you blast your way through dozens of enemies with machine guns and bombs, you’ll need excellent reaction times and reflexes to dodge the masses of incoming fire.
The Switch version of the game will also include the wave-based Panic mode that sees single exterminators, or a co-op team, taking on endless waves of bugs and pests in a trial to see how long you can survive. Even though the game is already hilariously chaotic, the Panic mode is turning that up to eleven. It’s all quite fun when you’re mowing down legions of annoying pests.
Here’s an official description of the game:
The Bug Butcher is an action-packed 2D side scrolling shoot em up game where peril comes from above. So in a nutshell, pest control with machine guns in space. The core mechanics hold old ties from the classic arcade shooter “Super Pang” where you shoot vertically, but with modern-day twists. You are Harry, a brash and tenacious exterminator who has a knack for decimating bugs.
