GRIP: Combat Racing is out now, and it’s bringing a great mix of acrobatics, racing and explosions onto the track for gamers to enjoy. If you’ve ever wanted to blast your friends to bits with machine guns at rockets at high speed, this is your dream game.
There’s even an interesting story in the game, something unusual for a racing game. This “carkour” game has a variety of game modes including both local and online multiplayer. Up to 10 players can compete online, and the game features a full lobby system. The roster of vehicles and tracks is expansive as well. Race your way through 23 tracks across a host of 4 exotic planets; From hostile, icy worlds to foreign, non-terrestrial cities, like nothing you’ve raced through before.
The racing and car physics add a whole new layer, and since you’re zipping along at hundreds of miles per hour, you’re always worrying about flying off the edge of a track. The feeling of blasting your way through the competition is really satisfying, especially when you time launching off of the wall to overtake the lead. The maps also include tons of powerups to use against fellow racers. There’s weapons, speed boosts, shields and other goodies.
When all of these elements come together, the result is a pulse-pounding adrenaline-fueled frenzied fight to the finish that often borders on all-out vehicular warfare. If you’re looking for a Kart-style racer to ruin friendships with, this is your game.
GRIP: Combat Racing is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. You can check it out in the gameplay trailer down below to see if it’s for you.
