Your region can vary based on what country your in somewhat, but the servers are pretty broad. The game will group players by region in Europe and North America, as well as a few other regions. You can change the default from your initial region, but there is something to consider. The further away you are from the source server, the more latency becomes a problem. The more time it takes for input to travel to the players, the more likely you are to experience lag spikes. So if you want to get the best possible game performance, stick in your default region.
