Where to get Taken Butter in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 - Dawning 2021

The Dawning is back in Destiny 2, which means it is time to bury every NPC in the game under a candy mountain. And you don’t have a magical unicorn to help you out. The Dawning 2021 recipes are very similar to previous runs of the event. Each of the Dawning 2021 recipes must be taken to the correct NPC to complete the quest. The process involves taking down a specific enemy type, or taking them out with a certain weapon. Players then get the crafting materials associated with that activity. There are a total of four recipes you can get with Taken butter: Classic Butter Cookie, Dark Chocolate Motes, Strange Cookies and Thousand Layer Cookies.

Taken Butter only drops off of the Taken enemies, as the name implies. The return of the Dawning in 2021 will mean taht you’re going to be heading to pretty much every area of the map. The Dreaming City, in this case. The zones within this map have tons of enemies, and of course, a lot of Taken. You won’t get Taken Butter from every one, but kill enough, and you should be fine.

There are many other recipe items you can farm, if you have the right tools. If you’re bringing certain weapons or damage types, you can kill two birds with one stone. SMG and LMG kills give you Bullet Spray. You can get Null Taste from Void kills. Melee kills grant Personal Touch. So get out there with your full arsenal and farm. It’s a good idea to try and farm for rare items like Electric Flavor, Null Taste, or any other complex ingredients while taking on these baddies.

Once you have enough Taken Butter for the various items, you can quit out via the Quest menu on your Director and move on. Head back to the Holiday Oven and craft the recipes you’re after with the Dawning 2021 ingredients you were able to get.
