Resident Evil 2 remake shows more Lickers in gory new trailer

We saw a little bit of Claire in action against these iconic Resident Evil enemies earlier this week, and now we get to see more of how the battles with the Lickers will play out in the upcoming Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Capcom has unleashed some new gameplay footage showing these gruesome beasties in action. Lickers are a result of further mutation in Zombies infected with certain strains of t-Virus. This process is known as V-ACT. Lickers are noted for their large, exposed brains; lack of skin; extreme sensitivity to sound and their eponymous tongues. These enemies were pretty easy to avoid or bypass in the original version of Resident Evil 2, but that’s not going to be as simple in the remake.

Anyone who remembers these freaks from the original games has to admit that they look rather impressive. The graphical upgrade for the remake has rendered these nasties in really disturbing detail.

Capcom has also released other details about the RE2 remake this week, a big announcement being the reveal of the Deluxe Edition which contains nods to the unreleased Resident Evil 1.5.

If you’re just hearing about this game, maybe check out some more gameplay from Gamescom. Then you should take a peek at the recent gameplay from Capcom UK. Maybe you’re a PC gamer who might pick this up, in that case you should check out the Resident Evil 2 Remake system requirements.
