Resident Evil 2 Remake gets new Claire gameplay and screenshots

The Resident Evil 2 Collector’s Edition

Capcom has released a set of screenshots and some new gameplay for Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Though the original “zapping” system is gone from the remake, the differing scenarios for Leon and Claire have been preserved in some form. In the case of this new gameplay, we see a revised version of one of Claire’s potentially lethal encounters with the monster “G” in the sewers beneath Raccoon City. The footage comes courtesy of the YouTube channel of Japanese publication Dengeki Online.

In other news related to this excellent and moody remake, Capcom has also dropped some new screenshots showcasing gameplay elements and the character models for Claire Redfield. We also get a look at Sherry Birkin, the young girl Clair rescues from a pile of garbage and zombies in the original game. These shots make the game look really good. I’m super excited to get my hands on this.

If you want to be fully prepared for the renewed adventures of Claire and Leon, you might want to check out some gory gameplay footage. Or you could check in on the Collector’s Edition of the game that features a 12″ statue. And if you’re really a super fan, you could take a peek at the $900 typewriter themed for the game.
