The Shadow & The Blade DLC announced for Total War: Warhammer 2

The Shadow & The Blade DLC

Like many other DLC packs for Total War: Warhammer 2, this one packs in new units galore. And of course, these new units are led by a group of Lords pulled right from the Warhammer Fantasy lore. The Shadow & The Blade DLC for Total War: Warhammer 2 will introduce two new factions, a new Skaven Clan is first.

Snikch will lead the Clan Eshin Skaven faction. The other new faction is led by Dark Elf Malus Darkblade, and is known as the Hag Graef Dark Elfs. Each of these new additions will of course have their own unique twists on their unit rosters, offering up some new gameplay mechanics. Creative Assembly are also being sure to work in some new rehashes of older mechanics.

The Dark Elfs will get access to Scourgerunner Chariots, Bloodwrack Medusas, and Bloodwrack Shrines units. The Skaven, meanwhile, will be able to command Eshin Triads, Poisoned-Wind Mortars, and Warp-Grinder Weapon Teams. These join the whole host of other units already in the game. This isn’t the first time the Skaven and other animalistic factions have been expanded. The previously released the Hunter and The Beast DLC added new elements to the Lizardmen factions.

The Shadow & The Blade DLC is available for pre-purchase now on Steam (with a 10% discount) and will be available Dec. 12. The base game released on September 28, 2017. Since then, a ton of different campaign addons, like a new High Elf addon, were released.
