Pokémon Go Bug Out 2020 event explained

Pokémon Go Bug Out 2020

During the Summer months, Niantic has announced a bunch of in-game events. The popular mobile game already announced the Summer Solstice event through June and July. Now there’s another incoming event that Niantic has going on at the end of this month. The Pokémon Go Bug Out 2020 event will round out the major events for the Summer in the game. And yes, Niantic will be running Community Days as well.

Whereas the other event had sun and moon Pokémon showing up, this new event has something different. Scyther, Venipede, Dwebble, and many more Bug-type Pokémon will be the spotlight this time around. The Pokémon Go Bug Out 2020 event will go for a few days, and will feature unique Raids and other events as well as increased spawns. Any 5-kilometer eggs found during the event will also favor these types. And finally, any captures during the event offer double EXP.

Each day will feature a variety of Bug-type spawns, here’s the schedule that Niantic has laid out for each of the days of the Pokémon Go Bug Out 2020 event. The Pokémon Go Bug Out 2020 event begins on June 26 and runs through July 1.

  • Nincada will be attracted by player’s incense from June 26 at 8:00am to June 27 at 11:59pm, local time
  • Wurmple will be attracted by player’s incense from June 28 at 12:00am to June 29 at 11:59pm, local time
  • Scyther will be attracted by player’s incense from June 30 at 12:00am to July 1 at 10:00pm, local time

In addition to these spawns, special Shiny variants and high-end raids will also be enabled each day. During the course of the event, a Shiny Dwebble  will be a common sight, but there’s more. The other spotlight event during the course of the Bug Out 2020 run will be Kricketot on June 30. This spotlight will run from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in your timezone.

A quick raid for Pinsir will happen on June 28 from 11:00am to 2:00pm. The three-star Raid will be available for all players who purchase the Remote Raid Pass bundle. Spend 1 PokéCoin on it in the shop to get access on the day. So you don’t even have to leave the house.
