The Pathless is a new adventure game from Giant Squid, the team behind indie hit Abzu. With the same stylish flair from their earlier game, Giant Squid looks to be going for an even more over-the-top feel this time around. The player takes on the role of a crafty adventure on a long journey with their eagle companion. Players will encounter devious puzzles and some vicious enemies as they explore some old ruins.
The gameplay looks very interesting, from what little we can infer. According to the developers the story centers around “the bond between the Hunter and eagle and the fate of the world hang in the balance,” and that will carry over into gameplay. We can expect to have to work with our animal friends to complete puzzles and overcome various challenges.
The aesthetic will really shine on the new PlayStation 5, with a more polished and sleek look. And no it won’t be a PS5 exclusive. Releases of the new game are also planned for PlayStation 4, PC, and iOS through Apple Arcade.
