How does level scaling in Pokémon Sword and Shield work?

The release of the first DLC pack for Pokémon Sword and Shield is coming this week. The Isle of Armor DLC arrives for Pokémon Sword and Shield on June 17. And with it comes a new feature for PvE battles. The new DLC will implement level scaling in Pokémon Sword and Shield with this new DLC.

There will be more than 200 new Pokémon in the game as a result of these DLC releases. With the release of the original game, a lot of fans complained about the reduced size of the roster. Game Freak also fell under some pressure over cutting a variety of corners. Story moments happening off-screen, animations being really simple, and many other things were hated by gamers. And now it looks like The Isle of Armor DLC and the second DLC pack will rectify some of this.

The Isle of Armor DLC and the second DLC pack both add new map areas. Each one is themed with a new style, more characters, and plenty of stuff to do. The biggest change is that Wild Areas are being expanded. The game’s story picks up and sends the player to a new area that contains many new Trainers and Pokémon. The Crown Tundra is the new zone, with plenty of new powerful Pokémon to capture.

But with all of this new content, there are some necessary considerations. The battles with new Trainers will apply level scaling in Pokémon Sword and Shield. If the most powerful monster in your party is 65, the Trainers in the DLC will have monster around this level. This should help any players who have made it through the story avoid problems with accessing the DLC.
