The weapons added in the new Fallout 76 Wastelanders update offers plenty of new options for destruction and death to be doled out. Problem is, there’s a real shortage of ammunition in the wasteland. Players can craft their own ammo for their various weapons, but they first need to gain access to the tools and supplies. One of the items you need is the Armco Ammunition Construction Appliance plans, which will unlock the ability to produce various ammo types.
Getting the plans, is a rather long and complicated matter, and it involves a bunch of questing and some other nonsense. The actual item is only unlocked once you attain maximum reputation with the Raiders. So just like the process for unlocking the Compound Bow with the Foundation, the process of unlocking the plans involves heading to the Crater. This is the newly created spaceship crash site for the new expansion, and it’s also the HQ of the Raiders. The Crater is located near the northeastern section of the map, check the map located below for the exact locale.
Head to the Crater and start joining up with the various quests offered by the NPCs of the Raiders faction. This blends directly into the new main story. Just focus on getting through the main story to the point where you need to pick a side between the Raiders or the Settlers, and you have your choice to make from there. Grinding out the quests along the way will eventually get you to the necessary rep level. This will take a lot of work though.
Be sure to not kill any members of the Raiders faction, this will in fact reduce your standing.
Once you have the Armco Ammunition Construction Appliance plans, you can jumpstart your new industry efforts.
