How to farm more Max Mushrooms in Isle of Armor

How to farm more Max Mushrooms in Isle of Armor

Pokémon Sword and Shield got the first of its two planned DLC packs this week. The Isle of Armor DLC focuses on the new Master Dojo, and its leaders Honey and Mustard. These new Trainers unlock your own potential, and a big part of that is the new Gigantamax forms being added in the DLC. Max Mushrooms are the key to this new power source. Using these items, you can craft a soup that can teach Gigantamax forms to many more Pokémon.

To unlock the Max Soup recipe you need to complete the second trial in the Master Dojo. This involves Mustard sending you to the Warm-Up tunnel on the western section of the island. Go there and head into the cave there. You will see the giant pink fungus that’s your target. From there, head back and speak to Mustard to unlock the recipe.

To get more Max Mushrooms in Isle of Armor, you need to head out and find Raids that spawn in the new Wild Area. You want the max rated five-star Raids. The Ditto Dens are one potential source for this, but any Raids seem to work. Just complete Raids and be on the lookout for the giant pink fungus. Interact with it when you find it to get more Max Mushrooms in Isle of Armor. The clusters are most often found in forests and caves, but there’s a trick to it.

You will need three of the Mushrooms to make one dose, so you will need to do some farming if you have a lot of Gigantamax forms to create.

The trick is that it takes multiple Dynamax battles occurring before even one Max Mushroom will spawn. Just keep completing Raids and checking around the map. Make sure to use Dynamax forms during these battles to ensure spawns of the item.  I have found them in the Brawlers’ Cave, Forest of Focus, and the Courageous Cavern.

These areas are really great for farming and training in general. Some really cool Gen I spawns like Poliwrath can be found on the new Wild Area. And there’s even a new Ditto source that’s really helpful for those interested in breeding. So while you’re hunting the Max Mushrooms, make sure to catch anything of note.
