Isle of Armor is out for Pokémon Sword and Shield. This is the first of two DLC packs planned for the game. Fans will get plenty of new Trainer battles and Pokémon to capture, but many folks are after specific things. There’s a bunch of Generation I Pokémon that tons of fans, myself included, where really sorry to see go from the Galar dex.
Seeing many of these, including the adorable Water-type Poliwag, return in the Isle Of Armor DLC is great. Here’s what you need to do to catch this Gen I favorite. It evolves into the rather useful Fighting hybrid Poliwrath, so it’s a good catch if that’s your kind of thing.
Poliwag in Isle Of Armor will spawn right at the same place many other powerful monsters do. Start by heading to the Ditto Island, and from there head to the Brawler’s Cave. This location will be one you come back to often, so remember where it is. For those not in the know, the Ditto Island is the same place the new Ditto Den spawns. If you’re a breeder, you will be coming here anyway. Why not use some of that time hunting other spawns too.
Check out the image below for where to find the Brawler’s Cave.
Once you’re there, start hunting. You will of course find Poliwag, as well as its evolved form Poliwrath in the cave. Other Gen I strong entries like Lickitung also spawn here, so take a trip and see what you can find.
