Castle Crashers Remastered heads to PS4 and Switch this summer

Castle Crashers Remastered Coming to PS4 and Switch

Since the original 2008 release of Castle Crashers, the indie darling became famous for frantic combat and fun multiplayer gameplay. The game featured a flashy art style and a really unique soundtrack, that soundtrack was created by members of the infamous Flash animation and creation site Newgrounds by the way, and it’s this mixture of great creativity and gameplay tat made the original game such a huge hit.

Developer The Behemoth first released Castle Crashers Remastered on Xbox One in 2015. The newly remastered version of the classic Xbox 360 indie title features fully redone graphics, improved framerates, and all the previously released downloadable content like characters, weapons, and animal orbs are available in-game. There’s more to this new version than just that though.

Castle Crashers Remastered will run at 60 FPS on both consoles, and both PS4 and Switch versions will include both the previously released content from the original game, as well as a bunch of new modes and content. For example, both ports get a new silly mode called “Back Off Barbarian” that involves plenty of action and fast-paced combat. Nintendo Switch has HD Rumble, Switch Online, handheld mode, and 4 player local Joy-Con support. PS4 has all of those game modes plus some integrations with the DualShock controllers on the console.

The popular sidescrolling action game will land on PS4 and Switch later this year, sometime in the Summer. You can check out the trailer announcing the game down below. And if you don’t want to want a few months, the game is already out on Microsoft Store and Steam.
