How to do Scan Patrols in Destiny 2 – Knowledge is Power Bounty

How to find Zavala in Destiny 2

With the Guardian Games wrapping up in Destiny 2 players are rushing to finish up the last bits of progress for the last few points. As the Titan players still hold a lead in the rankings, the other groups need all the help they can get to make up the difference. So to help everyone out, here’s a quick guide on one of the newer bounties in the event. The Knowledge is Power bounty requires players to do two Scan Patrols in Destiny 2 in any of the game’s playable areas.

Luckily for us, this is a pretty simple thing to do, as each of the Scan Patrols in Destiny 2 are not that long of a mission. The issues arise when actually trying to find the darn thing. Just like any other random mission spread out around the game Scan Patrols are marked by a unique icon on the HUD. The marker looks very similar to the Ghost robotic companions that players will recognize immediately. Refer to the image below for an example of the marker you’re looking for.

Once you find the marker it will send you to a new location via waypoints. Follow these to reach the mission area. Each of the Scan Patrols has a unique random target assigned to it, instead of killing this target, scanning it completes the mission. You will have to follow the compass for a fair bit though, as the targets are usually in remote areas of the map.

Follow the compass on the HUD to find the target, but be sure to come ready to fight as there will be enemies around. Take out the enemies around the marked target and move towards them when they’re the last thing standing. Press the button on the prompt that appears when you get close to scan the target and complete the mission.

Once that’s done, just open up the Director and open the Quests tab to turn in that Scan Patrol. Repeat this process to complete the new Knowledge is Power bounty.
