Star Citizen: Around the Verse – Arrival at Alpha 3.5

Star Citizen: Around the Verse - Arrival at Alpha 3.5

It’s that time of the week again, for another video in the Around the Verse series, this time it’s the final update segment for the 3.4 patch to Star Citizen.

Eric Kieron Davis and Sean Tracy are back again this week to take fans through all of the news about Star Citizen, so let’s get going. With the game heading into Alpha 3.5, there’s a ton more content packed into these ATV segments, so check it out down below to see all the new stuff CIG is working on.

ArcCorp planets and moons, new weapons to the FPS segment, new mission givers, and even female PCs are all coming to the game in 3.5, and all that is just the beginning, so let’s dig in. For example, the teams working on Star Marine are working in new maps and some adjustments to spawn mechanics to make the game more balanced. Some UI adjustments are being made to make gameplay smoother in the FPS portion. Arena Commander is also getting some adjustments in these upcoming patches. The PU is getting tons more new content, like better facial animation and customization, as well. Check out more of that in the video down below.

Although one of the big new additions is the new flight model which allows players much more granular control over their direction, speed and other control aspects. These changes also join new mechanics like restrictions for travel. Small ships (like the Aurora) won’t be able to jump across a Solar System in a single jump, because it would require too much fuel, and generate too much heat. This will make the gameplay of flying around space more immersive and realistic.

To see more Star Citizen news, check out some of the other Around the Verse videos, or maybe you want to see some more Squadron 42 gameplay. And even with the bad news about the Banu Defender, the teams over at CIG continue to work on planets, ships and new gameplay loops for the sci-fi MMO. There’s the Argo SRV still in the works. New character models for those who want a female avatar.

Check out the latest patch notes on the official site. The funding for the project continues to grow at a steady pace. As of writing Cloud Imperium Games has currently raised $221,618,300 from 2,263,625 backers overall.
