Crafting has become a critical part of Destiny 2, with a lot of renewed focus on the idea with the recent launch of the Witch Queen expansion. Crafting hinges on unlocking patterns to create the base weapon. But beyond that, there’s so much more. Players will quest and conquer their way across the stars looking for Patterns to then use in crafting. As you play through story quests, strikes and other quests, you will encounter many new systems.
Not only are Exotic weapons coming out in all manner of new forms, there’s a lot more to learn. You’ll want to make sure you purchase The Witch Queen expansion for Destiny 2. Without it, you will not be able to unlock any of this, putting a cap on your power levels in-game. But once you do, there are plenty of things to encounter and fight. One of the tools you unlock as you get through the story is called a Glaive.
Can you pick perks for crafted weapons in Destiny 2?
The answer is, sort of, you can actually pick and choose perks for crafted weapons in Destiny 2. There are two variants of the weapons you can make. The basic crafted variants are nice, but there’s something more you can unlock. When you want to get more power, you need to unlock the weapons you have. The core of this system is in finding the Deepsight Resonance. These special weapon variants will include new perks you may have not seen before.
Unlocking a perk is a matter of finding the Deepsight Resonance version of a particular weapon that has a perk you haven’t unlocked. This process will allow you to break down the new weapon, reserving it for future crafting. This is how you can pick up new perks. When creating a weapon for your Guardian, be sure to try and get your hands on the right perks. This is where that new third perk slot comes in handy.
Destiny 2 will start players out crafting their first Glaive, the new weapon type included in the new expansion. Then the Enclave will set Guardians loose on the galaxy, allowing them to start building their own weapons. To unlock new perks and traits to craft into weapons, players will need to find Deepsight Resonance weapons. These are weapons with a unique, red border around them. Find those and get crafting to see what you can come up with. You just need to put time into upgrading them to unlock their unique perks.
