Yakuza Kiwami 2 demo is now available

Sega has announced that a new demo will be available via the Playstation Store for Yakuza Kiwami 2. The announcement was made this week at Japan Expo 2018, and the demo is available now.

For the uninitiated, Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a full-blown remake of 2006’s PlayStation 2 sequel, and features a massive visual overhaul and brand new chapter following anti-hero Goro Majima. Majima’s sordid history with the Tojo clan, and how he gained his many nicknames like the “One-Eyed Demon”, may be explored in this new chapter. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Some newer control options and mechanics will also be included in this game in order to modernize some of its aspects. The series’ infamous hostess clubs make a return too – albeit with some changes to hostess likenesses, brands, and even signature cocktails due to licensing agreements – and the streets are filled with people offering side quests to Kiryu. There are lots of little distractions for the player before you even touch the main story, so that’s good.

And with the updated hardware, loading times and transition animations have been mostly eliminated, so the world feels much more immersive as a whole.

In addition to these announcements, the are more details about pre-order bonuses. Those who order the digital Special Edition will receive a Special Item Pack that includes the following items:

-Demonfire Blade weapon

-Hostess Ono Michiyo

-Sotaro Komaki R Clan Card

-Jo Amon R Clan Card

-The Comedian Suit Outfit

-1 Million Yen
