Dragon Quest XI has some new PS4 gameplay showing new boss battle

Dragon Quest XI

Today, during a livestream from the Square Enix HQ in Los Angeles, the publisher showcased some new gameplay in English of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age.

The primary focus of the footage we saw was on a major boss battle with a giant squid. As far as combat goes, it’s very typical JRPG combat with focused and tactical turn-based combat. So lots of tactical use of magic spells, items and special abilities will be needed to overcome the challenges Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age will throw at you.

There’s also hints of the world building and themes that are at play in the game. Although we don’t get too far into the lore or thee boss fight itself in order to avoid any story spoilers. So if that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll probably be disappointed.

The game will also feature full English voice acting options in its international localizations. This marks the first time this has occurred for the franchise in modern games.
