With the launch of the new Crown Tundra DLC, there’s a lot of hype around the franchise right now. So of course, Niantic wants to get in on the action. With the new DLC in the Switch title, it’s a great time to add some Galarian forms to Pokémon Go. The game has also added a Halloween event with those Red Eggs, so it’s been pretty good for Niantic as of late. Anyway, back to the new forms of these iconic Pokémon. Galarian Ponyta and Sirfetch’d are in the game now, and can be unlocked for your Trainer.
Galarian Farfetch’d are now available in the wild, and need to be evolved into Sirfetch’d. To evolve a Farfetch’d into the new form, you need to start by making the base form your buddy in-game. From there, get 10 Excellent Throws in catches, and this will cause it to evolve. Sirfetch’d used to only be available in Pokémon Sword.
Galarian Ponyta is a featured Raid Boss as well. You can go around and find it pretty much anywhere. To evolve this form into the sparkly eovlution of Rapidash, you need to feed them plenty of candies.
The spawns will be featured for the next 24 hours, so get moving! Once the event ends, Galarian Ponyta and Sirfetch’d (as Farfetch’d) will only be available through the hatching of 7 KM Eggs.
As for other additions, there are some new cosmetics as well. a new Crown Tundra uniform can be bought for your Trainer in Pokémon Go.
And if you’re in the mood to hop back into the Switch game, the expansions are live now. The new DLC adds the much more challenging hunt for legendaries through Dynamax Adventures, which are a ton of fun.
