There are many little things you need to do to survive in Project Zomboid. There are many skills to level, and gear to find; there are tons to build as well. Players can learn to build bases with carpentry, or to make complex electronics. One of the lesser-known elements is cleaning off. You will get splattered in blood and dirt fighting off the zeds. And if you’re not careful, you can get an infection by being too dirty. Sinks and baths are a good place to do this. This will wash off blood and dirt, and can help stave off infection.
How to clean blood in Project Zomboid
There are two times when you need to clean bloodstains. You either have to clean them from your own body, or wash them off of walls and floors. Killing zombies is a messy business. There are a couple of things to keep in mind. You need to spend time drying off if you can. That might mean taking your clothes off and swapping them for clean and dry options. Having wet clothes on in a cold environment is a sure way to get hit with negative moodlets.
To clean the stains on your clothes you need to use another method. Right-click on the menu of a water source and click All Clothing or Individual Clothing from the Wash menu. From there, your character will use the water to wash things off. You can also wash off with a shower if the water is still running. This can help speed up cleaning.
Aside from that, you really need to rely on Bleach and other sanitation methods. For wiping blood off of floors and walls, you need one of three items.
- Bleach Bath Towel
- Bleach Dishtowel
- Bleach Mop
Take one of these items and use them via the right-click menu to clean blood in Project Zomboid. You might also want to get rid of any bodies around. Leaving dead bodies around can also bring disease.
