Anyone who is really excited about Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown knows full well that the game is taking the experience to new heights, pun entirely intended. One aspect of this is the new set of multiplayer modes being built for the game.
In this new trailer, there’s plenty of action and some new gameplay elements. We’ve seen a bit of the multiplayer systems for this iteration of the Ace Combat series before, back when Bandai Namco first teased the modes a while back in another trailer, but here’s a quick rundown for those who missed that. There are two online modes, Battle Royale, and Team Deathmatch, with each one remaining fairly true to its name. Both modes include 8 players, with a points-based system determining the victor. Points can be scored by damaging or shooting down enemies.
Bandai Namco joined with Dengeki PS Live #023’s stream to show off the game, including the multiplayer, in greater detail. You can find the gameplay part starting at 1:49:25.
But that stream isn’t the only thing the developers have pushed out the door for this game.
In the case of plane highlights, there were videos for the F-18A , as well as the iconic Mig-31B and a trailer focusing on the A-10C Thunderbolt II. Then there was a trailer showcasing the Eurofighter Typhoon. The most recently released trailer for aircraft in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown was the F-14D Super Tomcat. There was also one for Saab Gripen E.
If you want to get a more firm grasp on what the game will be like on release, there’s plenty of gameplay and other info to check out. You might want to check out the Collector’s Edition which features a scale model and the DLC season pass, if you’re a hardcore fan that is. There’s also a ton of screenshots showing gameplay elements and story to take a peek at. There’s also another longer bit of gameplay showing the “Long Day” mission.
As usual, we put all of the new trailer discussed above at the bottom of the post, check out at your leisure. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown flies off to store shelves and digital download shops on January 18 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
