Bandai Namco has released another new gameplay trailer for the upcoming dogfighting plane sim Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. In this case, we’ve got a new plane spotlight trailer for another really badass plane.
The original design for the F/A-18 was the product of a collaboration in the USA between McDonnell Douglas and Boeing Defense, Space & Security manufacturers, resulting in one of the most iconic USAF multirole fighters in modern aviation. Since the introduction of the model and its variants in the 1990s, it has become a powerhouse worldwide. With nearly 1,500 craft manufactured over the years, many countries are now flying this carrier-capable plan in a massive number of combat sorties and other missions.
The various renditions of the base plane should feature in the game in some form. There’s the C and D variants which became the basis of Hornet line in modern times. The F/A-18E single-seat and F/A-18F tandem-seat variants which improved upon the platform and became known as the Super Hornets. It’s the E/F variants which are the focus of this particular trailer.
A versatile carrier-based fighter capable of providing support for aircraft, ground forces, and ships. With better maneuverability at medium speeds than high-speed fighters, it is effective in air raids. Nicknamed “Super Hornet,” the craft is an improved F-Type.
If you want to get a more firm grasp on what the game will be like on release, there’s plenty of gameplay and other info to check out. You might want to check out the Collector’s Edition which features a scale model and the DLC season pass, if you’re a hardcore fan that is. There’s also a ton of screenshots showing gameplay elements and story to take a peek at. There’s also another longer bit of gameplay showing the “Long Day” mission.
