Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown shows A10-C in new video spotlight

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown A-10C Aircraft Focus

Bandai Namco Entertainment and Project Aces have released the newest plane spotlight video in their ongoing efforts to drum up hype for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. The latest trailer focuses on one iconic aircraft platform, the A-10C Thunderbolt II.

Since its introduction to production and service in the 1970s, the original A10 line has seen many upgrades. Originally developed to replace the A-1 Skyraider following poor performance in Veitnem, the platform has grown a lot. The modern iterations, including the Thunderbolt II, have become some of more recognizable classic aircraft flown by the USAF. The ground-attack roles fulfilled by this legendary engine of destruction have become vital in modern military operations, even to the point that upgraded versions of the A10 platform continue to serve with the USAF in modern times. When you think of modern US-developed close air support planes, this is probably one of the first planes you think of, and it’s for a good reason.

This solid aircraft has featured in nearly every Ace Combat game from Air Combat to Ace Combat Infinity. The trailer seen below focuses on the best role for this aircraft, blasting enemy ground forces with heavy explosives and high-speed cannons.

This is just the latest aircraft overview for the game. The most recent one preceding this featured the MiG-31B, there was also one for the Typhoon jet, and then another putting the spotlight on the F/A-18F.
