Pokémon Go Global Valentine’s Challenge and Rewards (2022)

Pokémon Go Global Valentine’s Challenge and Rewards

There’s a huge new event coming to Niantic’s hit mobile game. It’s the season of love, and that means you and your friends, not just romantic partners, can get in on the fun of some in-game events. Called the Global Valentine’s Day Challenge, Niantic wants gamers to make everyone their valentine. The Pokémon Go Global Valentine’s Day Challenge requires players to send a total of 70,000,000 gifts. You can normally send Gifts to players on your Friends list that gives them Balls, Potions and other handy items.

The Pokemon Go Global Valentine’s Challenge begins on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. EST. The event will run until February 15, 2022, at 3:00 .a.m. EST. You can open the app and check progress during that time, likely by clicking the event banner in the menus. The  Pokémon Go Twitter account may also post daily updates as Trainers work to complete the goal. You could keep an eye out there as well if you’re curious.

How to complete the Pokemon Go Global Valentine’s Challenge

To complete the Global Valentine’s Challenge, players will need to send a total of 70,000,000 gifts to friends. The task for this particular event ties into the various weekly and monthly events as well for the month of February 2022, so you can pick and choose which ones you want to contribute to. But since it’s just giving gifts, you can really just continue to play as you normally would. Trainers have just six days to get this done, so they need to get to work.

Since you can only give 30 Gifts per day, per player, you have a lot of work to do. That doesn’t sound like a lot. And when you consider how many gifts that number actually is, it sounds almost impossible. But there remains hope. With millions of active players every day, there’s tons of Trainers who will take part in this whole mess. Gifts are gained through normal play, primarily when you complete other tasks, or visit Stops.

What kind of rewards are there?

If the goal milestone is achieved, every Trainer gets 3x Transfer Candy added to their account. This means that the usual rewards for transferring excess Pokémon to Prof. Willow will be tripled. This is great if you have a few choice monsters you’ve been saving to power up. Powerups consume candy, and catching and transferring is a great way to boost their CP scores.

Also, Heart Trim Furfou can be acquired during the event. Simply change the form of your natural Furfou. During the event, lure modules will last twice as long and you’ll receive twice the catch candy as well. Very helpful for getting more rewards and powerups.
