A Plague Tale: Requiem is the upcoming sequel to the original plague adventure, and things are somehow getting darker. IGN has shared a preview video for A Plague Tale: Requiem, showcasing 8 minutes of brand new gameplay footage. The footage starts off nice and horrifying, with rats just ripping a dude to pieces. Rats are still consuming every living thing, and this new game will be just as gruesome and harrowing.
A Plague Tale: Requiem is the direct sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence. The game will follow Amicia and her brother Hugo once again. Having somehow survived the first game, things are just as crazy this time as well.
In the sequel to 2019’s A Plague Tale: Innocence, orphans Amicia and Hugo travel south. The two “attempt to start a new life and control Hugo’s curse,” according to Xbox Wire, and “when Hugo’s powers reawaken, death and destruction return in a flood of devouring rats.” The siblings make their way to a “prophesized island that may hold the key to saving Hugo.”
This sequel will take players to a new region, once again inspired by the period of medieval France. The game leaves behind the “overcast atmosphere of 14th century Aquitaine” in favor of Provence. Although don’t expect a lighter tone this time around.
Check out the trailer below. A Plague Tale: Requiem will come to Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC sometime in 2022, and it will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.
