Fallout 76: The Pitt is the new expansion that was just announced for the MMO. Fallout 76 is moving toward more focused and episodic content going forward, and this is the first step in that process.
The location was first introduced in the Fallout 3 DLC of the same name. The update will mark the first time Fallout fans have been able to return to The Pitt since that DLC back in 2009. The locations haven’t really changed a day, for better or worse. The new content will be the major launch feature alongside season 10. That’s not all that’s coming in season 10 though, as the game is getting entire new features.
What is the release date for Fallout 76: The Pitt?
We didn’t yet have a firm release date for Fallout 76’s The Pitt Expedition, but a new trailer at the Xbox and Bethesda 2022 summer showcase revealed that it would be arriving sometime in September 2022. More specifically, you better be ready when it lands on September 13, 2022.
So if you’re wondering why Fallout 76: The Pitt is called an Expedition, there’s a good reason. This new expansion has a unique name for a reason, and that’s a new game mode. Expeditions are a new game mode that is coming to Fallout 76 that allows players to replay missions as longer stories. Moving away from the boss fights and raids of the launch, Bethesda is looking to garner a new experience for players.
In the Pitt, players will be caught between Pittsburgh’s remaining warring factions, the Union and the Fanatics. The new Fallout 76 Expedition will see the player picking sides and fighting off their enemies amid the iconic rusted ruins of the city. Add in the mixture of mutants and other horrors, and there’s a ton of combat ahead.
