Now, Pokémon Sword and Shield are getting a new Mystery Gift to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon games. To ring in the joyous occasion, there’s a new Pikachu coming to Galar, one with a very special move.

A variant of Pikachu that has the move Sing can now be claimed. This powerful move can put many monsters to sleep and open them up for solid damage. You cannot normally use this Sleep-inducing move with Pikachu, but you get the chance with this new gift, here’s how to get it.

How to get the singing Pikachu in Pokémon Sword and Shield

The singing Pikachu in Pokémon Sword and Shield is a Mystery Gift item. Like so many other items given out to players via the Gift codes, you just need the code to claim it. Previous codes gave out free Pokéballs and other rewards, they’re pretty useful. The new Pikachu can be claimed by going into the menu.

Once you have confirmed the code, the servers will credit you with the free monster. It will be added to your party if you have less than six members, or it will be sent to the next available Box slot. You can then do with it as you please.
