AS part of the explosive new Nintendo Direct stream from Nintendo, the company has revealed a ton of new information about the new mainline entry into the iconic Pokemon franchise, Pokemon Sword and Shield. In the case of the newest breaking news, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have revealed two new Legendary Pokemon, Zacian and Zamazenta, respectively.
These two Wolf Pokemon will join a brand new roster for the Switch game, which of course includes lovable new starters.
Check out the two new Legendary monsters in a gameplay snippet down below. These two beasties look really cool, and no doubt there are some excited fans currently theorycrafting movesets and counters for these two new additions.
As part of this reveal, we also learned the release date for the game, Pokemon Sword and Shield is due out on November 15th this year.
We also got to learn more about how Pokemon Sword and Shield will work in a gameplay sense. The 3D open world has been massively expanded, thanks to the increased power of the Switch compared to mobile platforms like the 3DS. The world of Pokemon Sword and Shield has been given both a visual upgrade and has even gotten more complex from an in-universe perspective. The region of Galar is a beautiful new home to hundreds of Pokemon, all beautifully rendered in a stunning new style.
We also know that Gyms and wild encounters will be returning to the game, replacing the Trials from Sun and Moon, and the overworld encounters from Pokemon Let’s Go, respectively. The new Switch title will also feature a new type of encounter called a Max Raid battle, featuring a huge number of Pokemon in a single fight.
The new Pokemon title is due out this November for the Nintendo Switch.
