There’s been quite a lot of DLC for Total War: Warhammer II, but Creative Assembly isn’t quite done yet. The game has a bit more fuel left in the tank, and that means one final rush of DLC. Lord Packs have dominated the DLC schedules, as they’re much easier to make, compared to expansive campaigns. Though Creative Assembly is finally moving onto Total War: Warhammer III, that doesn’t mean the game is getting thrown to the wolves.
With the last batch of DLC incoming, a new Lord pack has just been announced. Thorek Ironbrow and Ogre Mercenaries are being added as two new unit selections to the game. It’s very difficult to try and condense the lore behind various Dwarf factions in Warhammer Fantasy, but the summation is that Thorek Ironbrow is known as the Master Runelord of Karak Azul. He will lead a new faction in the game called Ironbrow’s Expedition. This faction gets unique variants for mounts, like Anvil of Doom, as well as Rune Armor for some heavy-hitting units. This is the seventh Lord Pack for the game, and will be joined by one other final bit of major DLC.
Along with all of that, comes a new Lords Pack as well. The Silence and the Fury has been announced, coming soon to the strategy game. The Silence and The Fury adds two new lords and their factions into Total War: Warhammer II. These are Taurox of the Beastmen and Oxyotl of the Lizardmen. These last two will be part of the paid update, Thorek wil be released for free as a patch to all players.
This follows other content packs of a similar style, like the Shadow and the Blade pack from a couple of years ago. CA loves to put in dozens of units to this game via DLC, and players seem to like it, generally speaking. So that means the new lords will also get some new addon units. Taurox will lead a batch of five units and three regiments, including a lesser lord and a hero. Oxyotl also has their own similar mix of addon units as a lord.
