The newest major DLC content for State of Decay 2 is out now. Daybreak Pack is a new expansion for the open-world zombie title, which adds in a horde mode and a bunch of new weapons. Nine ranged guns, six melee weapons, and six deployable explosives have been added to help you defend the base alongside new accessories and base upgrades. In addition, the pack also adds new mutated enemy types like the Blood Plague Juggernaut to the game.
The big focus for the expansion however is the new siege mode where groups of players take on an exceedingly difficult wave mode that throws increasingly tough enemies at you. The DLC was demoed at Gamescom, and was apparently extremely hard. According to the devs, only one group that tried the mode out of hundreds managed to fully complete it. In short, it’s a much more difficult iteration of the Lifeline mode from the first game.
If you do manage to survive the seven rounds of hell that the Daybreak mode entails, you’ll earn very powerful weapons and other items in both subsequent runs of the so-op mode and the main campaign.
Undead Labs also released a new trailer for the expansion, which can be seen down below. State of Decay 2 is out now for Windows 10 and Xbox One. Since the game was released in May 2018
