The Fallout 76 console bundle for the Xbox One X, which was originally announced at Gamescom, has some new details and a sleek new trailer. But a new console bundle isn’t the only thing Microsoft has in store for us this week.
Major Nelson took to the interwebs to shed some light on a new cosmetic variant of the Xbox One X console. But there were also some details about an upcoming white hued Xbox One Elite controller.
The special edition Xbox One X console is colored “robot white” and costs a cool $500. The new controller comes in at $150.
Let’s be real here, this $650 price point, if you bought both new items together, is exclusively for hardcore fans. As most of us already have an Xbox One of some description, I can’t imagine this having mass-market appeal beyond a niche audience. Although I could be wrong since Fallout 76 is a bit of an unknown at this point. Who knows, maybe the next iteration of survival games can spur an unexpected surge in sales of games consoles.
Fallout 76 is set to launch on November 14, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, while Microsoft’s White Special Edition Xbox Elite Wireless controller comes out on October 16, 2018. You can check out a short teaser for the new hardware color scheme down below.
