Spyro Reignited Trilogy has new gameplay from PS Underground
PlayStation Underground has offered a deeper look at the upcoming Spyro Reignited Trilogy in a new gameplay video.
We all know that the Spyro The Dragon series is an icon of the Playstation 1 era, the adorable yet smooth purple dragon glided his way into our hearts long ago. And so the announcement of a full remaster of the franchise on modern consoles has lots of people excited. The exploration, puzzle-solving, platforming all mixed so well together that these games came to define an entire generation of games.
The Reignited Trilogy was announced earlier this year as a full collection, and collects the first three Spyro the Dragon titles with completely redone visuals: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.
This new gameplay we get to see a deep dive of a level from the second game, as well as some of the characters from that game. The team behind the remasters have worked really hard to recreate all of the biggest and smallest details from the original games in the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. They even built custom tools to bring all the original assets and even AI logic forward into these new versions. So if you want a peek behind-the-scenes at the work that’s going into the remaster of one of the best retro platformer franchises, check out this gameplay from PlayStation Underground.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 21, just in time for the series’ 20th anniversary. Check out the gameplay courtesy of the folks over at Sony.
