Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 is creeping closer and closer to release, and fans of both the game franchise and the tabletop source material are giddy with excitement. OK, maybe giddy isn’t the right word, but with all the hype Paradox has been drumming up around this very anticipated sequel, there’s no doubting that gamers are excited about stepping back into the shadowy world of the Masquerade.
And with the announcement of a new faction, Paradox is kicking that hype dial up once again. After all, vampires are pretty cool. And what’s cooler than these denizens of blood and shadow than even more vampires. And that’s why Paradox just revealed another new entry into the scene of bloodsuckers in the Pacific northwest, say hello to the Newcomers.
These guys might be a new entry into the iconic franchise, as the name the Newcomers suggests, but they’re a group that’s prepared for anything. In short, these dudes are pretty freaking metal. The group is based on the idealism of doing their own thing, with a new total disregard for dealing with the other factions and groups of vampire Seattle. Although this attitude may well come back to bite the Newcomers in more ways than one.
That’s because the other factions and their powerful allies aren’t to take a challenge to their power lying down, in their coffins or otherwise. There’s so many groups vying for power in this dark and mysterious world that it’s kind of hard to keep track of them all, luckily Paradox has been very judicious in revealing different vampiric entities and power players. Each vampire and other fantastical creature has their own abilities and motivations, and the groups they belong to reflect those traits too.
here’s the enigmatic and powerful businessfolk of the Venture. Then there’s the deceptively weak, but notoriously tricky Thinbloods. The Brujah are a rough bunch of berserkers. While the Toreador are very much the common artist of the bunch, very creative, and very dangerous.
Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 will release onto PC in March 2020.
