Mechwarrior 5 now has support for real-time ray tracing effects. Piranha Games has pushed out the new patch that includes the new DXR ray tracing, but has not put out any further details. It’s worth noting that the implementation here is considered a beta, so expect further revisions.
These new Ray Tracing effects are brand new, so expect some issues until the next patch, as some things are still technically on the bleeding edge. So just as this patch has updated the DLSS implementation within the game, expect a future hotfix coming to Mechwarrior 5 to address any issues in the ray tracing stuff.
It’s been quite a while since Nvidia put out RTX graphics cards back in 2018, and the number of games supporting the features they first introduced has been growing slowly, but not quickly enough for some PC gamers. And while it’s nice to have another title on that list, graphics hounds will always want more. So if you’re a fan of giant stompy robots and beautiful lighting effects, this may be a game worth checking out.
