PlayStation Plus reveals new games for upcoming expansion

PlayStation Plus Collection workaround resulting in bans

The PlayStation Plus service has been teasing a major relaunch for a few months now. There have been a lot of people trying to guess what’s coming. And now, we’ve finally know what we’re getting. This June, Sony’s PlayStation Plus service will relaunch as a tiered service with each tier offering access to different benefits and games. Each tier will offer access to demos and free games, with the variety of titles varying by tier.

The announcement of this expansion detailed a huge amount of games, with the announcement from March promising over 700 games. And that’s basically what we’re getting. THere’s a mix of both first-party and third-party games coming to the various elements of PS+ and the streaming variant. The new PlayStation Plus games run the gamut across both modern and classic consoles. PS3, PSP and other older consoles will also be jumping over to the service. Sony has announced a huge number of remastered and classic games coming as well. Remasters like Dark Cloud, Jak 3, and Rogue Galaxy get featured in the bundle.

With the mix of tiers being built into the PlayStation Plus and PSN system, there’s a lot to go over. One of the big focuses with the new PlayStation Plus games is a lot of classic PlayStation franchises and games. There are a ton of different genres here, with everything from stealth titles to fighting games being featured. The following is a list of PSP and PlayStation 1 games coming to the service at launch:

  • Ape Escape
  • Hot Shots Golf
  • I.Q. Intelligent Qube
  • Jumping Flash!
  • Syphon Filter
  • Super Stardust Portable
  • Mr Driller
  • Tekken 2
  • Worms Word Party
  • Worms Armageddon

And that’s just the start. The other biggest franchises to be revealed were various Jax and Uncharted games. Gamers will be able to stream various games as well. Streaming for PS3 games, for example, will be a big focus. This is being done since the modern PS4 and PS5 lack the necessary emulation technology for some games.

And it’s not just old games either.  There are also entries for Spider-Man and God of War coming into the mix. PlayStation Plus subscribers using the Premium/Delux tiers will also include new more modern titles. There are a lot of different PS4 and PS5 games being included. Farming Simulator 22 and Cyberpunk 2077 will both be rolled into the expansion of available games.
