Sekiro Shadows Die Twice shows off stunning new gameplay

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Japanese gaming magazine Dengeki PlayStation, and FromSoftware, have some new footage to show of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. During a recent livestream promoting the game, FromSoftware Communication Manager Yasuhiro Kitao and Voice Actress Kanako Takatsuki walked us through a gameplay demo.

We get to see various locales throughout the game, there sure is a lot of snow around. The livestream also features plenty of gameplay elements like the fast-paced movement and combat. There’s a lot here in this several hours of footage, so settle in for the long haul watching this. It’s all pretty similar to the demonstrations we’ve seen during Gamescom and TGS this past year, so if you’ve seen those you know kind of what to expect.

Overall, Sekiro seems fairly similar to what would happen if Dark Souls and Tenchu games got thrown together. With frantic action and combat, the whole thing is pretty fun. But by dispensing with the typical RPG-like trappings of Souls games, there’s this much tighter focus on gameplay quality that I think will be fairly interesting and enjoyable.

Sekiro releases for PS4, Xbox One and PC on March 22nd. If you’d like to get the game, you can already pre-order it on Amazon. You could also check out the livestream footage of the game down below.
