Life is Strange 2 has finally been revealed, so now we get a look at the main characters and their backstory that will drive the latest adventure from DONTNOD.
The latest game follows the journey of two brothers, Sean and Daniel, as they grapple with increasingly desperate circumstances. They’re on the run from the law for some reason. It might even have to do with the car-flipping teaser we saw a while back, who knows. But since the new game takes place in Seattle Washington, that teaser may be unrelated.
The two brothers will apparently have a strange new ability that will grow in power and effectiveness over the course of the game. It will be cool to see how these systems play out when the game is released.
This game will feature a whole new cast and lots of new gameplay elements and options, so new and old fans will be able to have fun in multiple new ways. And over the course of the soul-searching journey these new characters will go on, players will have to tackle some very tough subject matter, so there’s the typical somber tones from the previous games coming up.
It all sounds pretty interesting to me as a fan of the earlier games, although the second season was undoubtedly the stronger story to me. If you’re as excited as I am to see where the devs take this story, check out the trailer for Life is Strange 2 down below. Life is Strange 2 comes out on September 27th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Official info from the Life is Strange Blog :
The main characters of Life is Strange 2 are brothers Sean (16) and Daniel Diaz (9), two brothers living a fairly normal life in Seattle, Washington state. Following a tragic event, their lives are forever changed. Now on the run from the police and threatened with both separation and incarceration, Sean decides to take his younger brother and seek a better life in their family’s home town of Puerto Lobos, Mexico.
Life on the road is tough and dangerous. The brothers will face all manner of challenges as they bravely undertake a journey that will test the bonds of brotherhood. Playing as Sean, you will need to make the kind of tough choices you can expect from a Life is Strange game, and you will need to live with the consequences of your actions. The game will this time focus on brotherhood alongside the need to guide and educate your younger brother whilst simultaneously coming of age yourself. As with previous games in the series, Life is Strange 2 will tackle a host of issues that all of us can identify with and that will cause moral dilemmas and require much soul searching. These themes come together most powerfully in the way Daniel will develop depending on the lessons you teach him and the role model you decide to be.
